As the same of the project indicates, it is a low cost device to retain water with high efficiency that has been developed in the backdrop of the context of our country and our farmers. Eco-Friendly Water Retention Natural Polymer is working on properties of SAP which have the ability to absorb water equivalent to their own weight. This device has enhanced capacity to store water for a long time (the product testing showed that it may retain water for 4 to 6 weeks). This also implies that it is an irrigation innovation where crops irrigated at intervals of 2 to 4 days can now be irrigated at 7 to 8 days with less water consumption, that will allow the farmers to get more crop production with lower water consumption. This natural polymer has been designed using organic wastes such as orange peels, banana peels and peepal barks with gel. It is a biodegradable product that is completely pollution-free and easily mixes with soil and does not pose any threats to the future environmentally. Also being non chemical based, it is harmless to crops, soil, and farmers, offering multiple benefits in farming such as longer retention of water for crops that may impact in increasing their growth as well as serving as fertilizer for the crop reducing farming expenditure.
